In addition to its natural wealth, Chingaza also has great cultural and historical value. The Muiscas and the Guayupes, indigenous peoples who inhabited the region for centuries, left a deep mark on the culture and history of the area. Much of their knowledge and traditions are still kept alive in the peasant communities that live near the park.
